Thank You all for your responses...Again, this club is second to none with it's level of expertise.
I thought the key had to be on, I just couldn't remember. Thanks again.

Hello club...I hope this isn't a stupid question, but I don't remember how it was in my 62 Newport when I was 16. Anyway, when I bought my 62-H last fall, the radio didn't work. Does the radio need the key on to work? I know my power windows don't need the key to operate, but I don't remember about the radio. I know someone out there knows.....

    thanks

I do know for sure that petroleum based anything in a hydraulic brake system that is designed for DOT 3 fluid is disasterous. DOT 4 can be used in place of DOT 3 but is mostly used in European cars and has higher temp specs than does DOT 3.

I just replaced all the rubber pieces in a three ton truck that had dump bed hydraulic fluid in the hydraulic brake system. Cost to reverse that little mistake cost the upfitter a back charge close to 6K. Anything petroleum based does not belong anywhere near a hydraulic brake system and it would seem reasonable to me to extend that thinking to a top mechanism also.
