RE: [Chrysler300] Fw: RM Auctions to sell: 1955 Chrysler C-300 PLUS 300K on eBay

John,

I have noticed that as well. I have to say, I got to play around in an
L a few weeks back and I was really blown away by the power and comfort.
Seeing a good driver quality L sell for 33K at the RM sale was
gratifying also as perhaps, they are finally getting their due.

I think we've all taken notice of the prices that the original 55-61
letter cars have been bringing, and have also noted that the 62-65 cars
don't usually bring nearly as much. I'm not sure if that's because of
the lack of Exner styling, or the introduction of the non-letter 300's,
or both.

True, these high-dollar cars are at the top of the heap, but a Ram K
Coupe just sold on eBay for $4300. No, it was no prize winner, and needs
plenty of work, but a relatively inexpensive way to get into Letter Car
ownership.

Plus, it was well-optioned - factory AM/FM with reverberator, the whole
Ram package, A/C, power windows, an adjustable steering wheel and tinted
glass. Here's a link to the auction:

The red 55 C 300 just sold at 180,000.00 including buyer's commission. I
was bidding via Timo(he was at the auction with Bill Madden) but they
lost me at 90k plus commission.

I told Timo that I was going to take my B down to Anaheim(auction
location) for Sunday's action.

Bill's old C convertible sole for 145,000 plus buyer's commission.
Likely a 3+ car.

The pre-auction estimate for the 59 Imperial convertible is 200 to
250,000.00. Car is a gem. Showed and did well at Amelia Island show
several months ago.

Pre-auction on the air conditioned 55 C 300 is 80 to 100k. Likely a
strong number 3 car as I remember it.

Appears that the older(read original) 300's are finally getting the
respect that they deserve. I have not heard of any non-convertible 300
selling for the money that the red 300 just brought. In fact very few
non-convertible sedans of the 50's or early 60's either(forgetting the
craziness of some of the late 60, early 70's muscle cars).

Rich:

This is a link to the C-300 that Timo restored for my friend Bill
Madden. Madden later sold it to Art Astor who is now selling his
incredible collection this weekend via auction. I doubt that there is a
finer C 300 anywhere, but I've not seen them all so do not know for
certain.

There are several other ex-Bill Madden(he sold all his cars to Astor a
couple of years ago when he moved to North Carolina) cars being sold
including another C-300 with factory air, and also the most amazing
Imperial convertible that was also restored by Timo.

Here is the link to the RM website for this auction. You will be able to
find the other cars if you are interested in a look. There are several
other 300's being sold including Madden's 300 C convert, Imperial
convert and his 300 F.

I am hoping to throw in a bid via Timo(who is at the auction) for this
red 300 but doubt that I will get it as I expect the bidding too go to
high for my pocketbook

You can forward this to the 300 listsrv if you wish.

This link has been sent to you from a friend.
