RE: [Chrysler300] power steering

Jimmy

If you do not have an owners manual you need one. It will tell you how to
make the adjustment to prevent self steer to hold a neutral position.
When a steering box is rebuilt the adjustment is lost. You can only do on a
bench tester or in the car motor running.

  Subject: [Chrysler300] power stearing

  Hello to all,

I have replaced the power steering box in my 69 300 because it was
leaking.
My son had a rebuilt one for his 66 300 so I used that one. When I put it
in
and started the car the steering wheel spun itself to the left. Thinking
the
box had sat too long and a valve was stuck, I ordered a new one. When I
put
the new one in it once again shot to the left and then after about 5 min
of
running shot to the right. It still does it but not as bad. If I hit the
gas
it will turn about a quarter turn to the right each time and when driving
if
I take my hand off the wheel it will shoot to the right. How can I fix
this?
Is their air in the box and if so how do I get rid of it? All help would
be
  appreciated.

  Thanks Jimmy
