Rocker panel on all early 60's Chrysler convertables have a thick reinforcement plate inside that runs from front of rocker to back end of rocker, just before rear wheel well. The "outside" sheet metal part of the rocker panel is spot welded to this reinforcement plate with 2 spot welds side by side spaced about every 3-4 inches all along the way on top and bottom of the rocker panel. This is unique to convertables. This is important for the structural rigidity of the car . A 2dr. HT rocker panel does not have that. I suggest that you leave the inside reinforcement plate intact on your car. It is very thick and is usually not rusted exept maybe surface rust. You can replace the "outside" sheetmetal skin, which is what I assume is rusted, by drilling the spot welds (using a good quality spot weld cutter will help greatly here) and then replacing it with your spare outside skin from the 2dr car... Hope this helps... J.Yves ----- Original Message ----- From: bluesport62 To: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, April 23, 2009 12:37 PM Subject: [Chrysler300] rockers HI GANG.
