I also have a contact at Koni, and he understands there is some interest and there is another  person trying to poll folks to see how many we can use. is comments:

He doesn't  know if the tooling etc is still available, and asked me for  dimensions of the shocks we need . Instead, I gave him the KYB part numbers. (I have not heard back from him yet). My sense is that might find hard parts which fit and use proper valving, but won't know til I hear back.

His guess is that if they could build up 50 pieces, they would likely cost between $80 and $100 each.  
He also has an old hot rod , a mid 50's Mopar ladder frame and running gear with a Corvette engine and a Devin body which he wants to restore. 
He asked me about brake drums etc. 
I thought it was encouraging (unless I never hear back from him!)
If 50 sets (fronts only) were $4k to $5k, a person might  seize upon this as a business opportunity.
