Re: [Chrysler300] Transmission Wet Burps on a '57



Good suggestion. I always 'assume" that this would be checked on a rebuild.

  I believe there is a vent tube on the top of the transmission case. It may be worth a check of the vent to make sure it is not blocked or partially blocked. Any pressure build-up in the transmission case could cause the burp.

  It is or can be a problem on cast iron torque 
  flites, aluminum torqueflites and GM Powerglides 
  among others possibly. The common opinion is 
  that it is due to torque converter leak down 
  which overfills the pan. I guess the first burst 
  of fluid from the cooler line causes a wave that exits up the fill tube.

  The cork sure sounds like the easy low tech solution.
