Re: [Chrysler300] 300F bellhousing

Hi to all:

Based upon the photos John Hertog (Yes, Bob Jasinski, he's still very much
with us.) took of Steve Albu's totally original 300F, the tranny was
black. Much of the paint has worn off the bottom but still there is evidence it
was originally black.

It seems to vary quite a lot. Some are all black, and some are partial. I
guess it depended on who was painting and on what shift. It was painted
with the bellhousing bolted to the engine.

Is the transmission bell housing painted black, like the engine, on a 300F?
Or is it supposed to be aluminum color...

Engine and trans were out of the car when I bought it, but the bell
housing,
upon cleaning, has some black paint on it, but not all over it...is this
maybe just overspray assuming it was bolted in place when the engine got
painted at the factory?

Thank you!

Jean-Yves
