Fwd: Re: [Chrysler300] Edelbrock carb for a ram setup

John,

One side idle circuit is plugged and needs to be out farther. Remove
idle screw and blow out with medium air pressure.

Jim,
Question on 2903 AFB carbs. I have one side where the mixture screws are
backed out 1 turn, while the other side is backed out 3.5 turns (almost
all the way out). This is the only way I get a steady idle and get peak
vacuum. I don't like the mixture screws out that far. I have checked
for vacuum leaks around carb and have found none. What can i check to
lean out the idle mixture on this carb? Let me know if you have any
suggestions.
Thanks,
John Begian

Well, the only time a carb is "worn out" is if the casting is cracked or
corroded with holes in it. The throttle shaft holes can be bushed and
the metering devices can be recalculated for the correct flow of fuel.
So... different rods and different jets would correct the metering
portion. Bushings would fix the "sloppy" holes around the throttles
shafts. Then you have to change NOTHING in the fuel lines and linkage.

Just got home from a swap meet in Jefferson, WI. Friday was nice
weather. Sunday was great also. But Saturday was all rain and mud.

Hope this helps,
