My '55 PowerFlite does that.  I attribute it to just a hard & fast shift.
Will be interesting to see if there is an adjustment for this.  The banging
can't be good on the tranny.

Good evening out there to everyone in 300 Land!

Have a question for anyone out there who may be able to help.

Have a 59E ............ runs great and shifts fine except for one thing. 
If I accelerate very slowly and let my foot off the gas when the car shifts 
from 2nd to 3rd, I get a "clunk" sound. I thought about a universal joint 
and I don't think that's it. My guess would be a transmission or engine 
mount. Any suggestions??? Thanks in advance!
