Your rear axle problem sounds to me like too much end play with the axle shaft.  The end play is adjusted by installing metal shims between the backing plate and the axle housing.  Hopefully your mechanic didn't throw away what he thought were useless metal plates (shims) when he did your rear end.  Have your mechanic check the end play and installed shims as needed to correct the problem.

Greetings to all in 300sville!
 
Well everything is okay with my G with my 'prior' list of problems (power steering box leak fixed, etc)., but the ONLY thing is a rear left drum scraping backing plate or tops of sides of brakeshoes. This only occurs when starting off at full force while turning wheel hard the to right. A year or two ago, I had a 3:23 ratio POSI TRAC put in and it causes 2 problems here.  # 1, it did not come from the factory that way and #2, I might of had the guy saw off the wrong amount off the end of the posi axle shaft length. I better have told him 1/8 of an inch because its supposed to be from what I understand (posi axle shorter than non posi). On Wednsday I'm going to have the drum removed and first look at where it is scrapping to get a better idea. I'll all get back to you and keep you informed! :-)
