Re: [Chrysler300] Alternator gauge 1964

Larry:

The alternator gauge is an "ammeter". It measures the amount and direction of the electrical current "going through it". In order to get the gauge to move, the gauge must be placed in series with the electrical load, not parallel to the electrical load. I hope this helps.

Gents…..have a seriously cooked alternator gauge from a 300K. I have a spare
ut is there a bench check to see if the used one is working? No number of hook
ps with jumper cables makes the replacement one move even if I use a jumper
rom the red behind the gauge to 12 v and a black to the car with headlights off
nd on.
