RE: [Chrysler300] 300 Navigation Disc

Yes, the 2006 disc will only have on it what was put there when the disc was created. Remember the head unit reads off the disc for all road and address information on the 2006 (maybe 2007) model, I am not certain what was done on later models 2008+ that were touch screen. I have a feeling it was all based on GPS input like the small hand held unit you can buy now for $100.

Having said that, the earlier discs (for the REC and RB1) do have updates that have been issued through 2012, that's the one I am currently running in my 2006 300C. It is disc #05064033AK.

Hey Guys -

Bob - won't that disc only have the information from 2006, and not the updates? Strikes me that Chrysler service department will update your system or you can find someone else with the same model and year, and split the cost.

We have been trying to update the navigation system in our 2010 300-C and even Chrysler can't figure out whether it is a computer download or a disc. The parts department says they do not show a disc for there model, and the service guys apparently have no service advice on it either. Guess we are stuck in 2010 as far as travel goes.

Roland, Ray,

Yes, you must have the right radio model number, but that's about it. 2006
300's use the REC.type. For the sake of mentioning it, I have an original
disc from my since totaled 2006 300 Limited. How about $25 plus a couple
bucks for postage?

My experience on buying discs is that you MUST have exact info on the radio
unit.
Even then the venders don't always give you one that will work.
I tried to get an updated one for my 2005 T&C Limited and it would not work.
Then we bought a 2006 T&C touring (HUGE difference!!!) without a disc and
could not find one guaranteed to work.

Vendors on eBay carry original discs, as well as discs that have the
"in-motion" software lockout removed. I have bought several over the years
and really like them compared to the stock, locked out discs. This way my
wife or passenger can set/change the navigation while the car is moving and
there is no need to pull over.

This request is 300 related but not letter car 300. Anyone know where I
can purchase a used navigation disc for the GPS system in a 2006 Chrysler
300.
The new disc at $190 seems a bit pricey.
