1956 300-B.

All, I've looked in my parts room and have come up with Power Steering
Hose # 14064. There is no brand name on the box but I do remember the brand
of Continental previously and I don't think it is the Continental out of
Europe.

As I recall in the parts book the listing was for 1957 Chrysler but it
does work on the '55 & '56 cars with the modification on one fitting. You
will see a very visible metal step down about half way through the hose.

Hope this will help some of you out with the problem. If I can be of
further assistance please ask.

I have the same problem with my 57 Saratoga after replacing the high
pressure hose; it groans but the ps works fine. John, if you can dig up a
Continental parts number that would be great!

"Continental" brand as I recall that works but fitting on one end needed to be
changed out.

you need the part # I can check my parts room later today when I arrive home
and advise.

deteriorated and started leaking, especially the high pressure hose. New hoses
attached and now the PS system "groans" and makes noise. Seems to work OK,
i.e., power steering works. It was completely free of noise before the hose
change. I suspect air in the system. I removed top fill cap and drained a
little off the reservoir as it was full to top. I ran the steering wheel side
to side at a little above idle speed. I thought I'd see bubbles or the
system trying to purge itself. No success. Shop manual doesn't help much.
