RE: [Chrysler300] Need pressure, got any?

Larry,

I think I would pull the oil pump first, to see if it may have seized up.

1966 Chrysler 300 rag...delicious car belonging to an Apple exec. Standard
engine and runs terrific. Had it aligned yesterday and on the way home the
bright red no oil pressure light comes on. Check of the dip stick shows
full of brand new oil, the same I put in months ago so I'm guessing bad
sender and drive two miles home. Today I remove the valve covers and find a
spotlessly clean rocker set up and all 16 pushrods pushing and all 16
rockers rocking. This lets out a stuck valve and a bent or missing pushrod.
and/or popped out tappet All the rockers are starting to sound noisy. I
remove the sender and crank the engine. No oil shoots out.. Is it likely
that an oil pump failed? Do I need to remove the oil pan and check the
pickup and strainer? Messy and hateful job. Some of you may suggest I
contact the 1966 300 Consultant of the Inc. Club, but that is me and I
already checked with me. Now checking with you. Larry Jett
