Fwd: [Chrysler300] Wheel covers (hubcaps)

Hi Don,

I remember following you at our spring St Louis Meet, and one of your right side hubcaps fell off when you pulled over for one of our red light stops. I've heard that K hubcaps have a tendency to pop off, but have no first hand experience. It's been far too many years since I was driving my folks' new '63 Newport to remember if I was throwing hubcaps.
All that said, I've sprayed extra Rustoleum black paint on my 300F wheels where the hubcaps grip as a precaution, and have not to date lost a hubcap. As Keith Boonstra mentioned, try that, and check the tabs on your hubcaps to see that they're not bent in, but are grabbing appropriately. Are you throwing the same hubcap all the time, or are they 'taking turns' falling off different wheels? If it's the same one, maybe you do have a wheel issue that's causing this. Also, I recall that your tires were pretty 'seasoned' - another possible cause if your tire is causing a vibration.
Good luck!

Anybody have a good fix for hubcaps that like to come off at inconvenient times-like when driving? I have had the problem several times now, and in all cases they were fully installed and not at all loose before the trip. Luckely I heard them depart & was able to get them back, but I can't rely on luck forever. Any ideas?
