Re: [Chrysler300] wheel sizes for Chrysler cars

5 on 4.5 in is 114.3 mm at least that is what was stamped on BBS wheels that were 4.5 in - but your point is well taken.

And, I could not agree with you more as to the importance of the correct offset. Most current wheels have a lot of inside offset compared to the pre-front-wheel-drive cars of the 60's and 70's. If you try to put the newer wheels on without compensating or at least verifying you have clearance, you can have big problems - from rubbing tires at steering extremes and blowing out a tire to the inside of a wheel damaging a stock brake line to just messing up the alignment.

One option is long studs with spacers - but that has its own issues.

Hi all,
I trial-fitted 17" stock steel rims from a 2006 300 on my '64. The offset was incorrect, and the rims did not set far enough out to the wheel well, as if they were too narrow . . . and the wheels fouled the AAJ front disc brake conversion.
Note: the bolt pattern on a current 300 is 115mm...4.5 inches on our Letter Cars equals 114.7mm.
My 300 cents' worth.

John,

I can't speak for the Dodge Intrepid wheels, but I did try some Dodge Dakota wheels on the 300G, and even though they fit fine, the wheels covers would not fit!   Make sure to test fit a wheel cover in addition to the wheel itself.

I was thinking of trying to locate some larger than 14" rims for my 57 as I think the wheel wells need to be better filled.

I have come across a set of very inexpensive steel wheels from a Dodge Intrepid.  They are supposedly 5 x 4.5 bolt circle, but I'm not sure about hub center bore or wheel depth as far as them being able to go over my rear drums or my front disc brakes.

Any ideas?
