Re: [Chrysler300] Let Us Return To Those Shows of Yesteryear

The movie was "The World, the Flesh and the Devil" starring Harry Belafonte, Inger Stevens and Mel Ferrer done in 1959.  I can't remember if the car was a 300C or D vert but he drove it off the show room floor after breaking out the window glass.

"Quiz Show" featured a white 300D vert that was restored by Gary Goers and at the time of the movie was owned by former 300 Intl. president, Tom Turner.  The interesting shot in that movie was when it was started in the show room.  They turned the key and it fired.  Guess they thought turning the key and pushing the Neutral Button would have been to complicated for the average viewer.

There was a low budget movie featuring a 300C (?) running around an empty NYC,  driven by the one guy left who survived a nuclear(?)  attack, forget name of it, saw it twice I liked it so much as a kid. Must have been ~ 57 or 58.

And Robert Redford called me once wanting my red 300D convert for the quiz show movie; but it was too rough then; some one else in club helped him out, repainted a white one red, (I think?)  . Turned out to be a good deal. -------At least when he talked to me,  had to be red. Other good one was in Hawaii, could not make a deal. Never saw the movie; he knew about 300’s.
He says “This is Robert Redford” I say,  yeah, right.

I remember seeing a 300C convertible years ago. I found out the 'C' belonged to Rudd Weatherwax, Lassie's trainer.

We've been watching very old episodes of "Lassie", mainly for the old Mopars and assorted other cars in them.  Thought the group might be interested in this old episode.  The car shows up twice, once in the beginning and once at the end.  Bob says he spotted a manual window crank in the rear but couldn't verify the same for the front.  We just wish they had shown the car longer.  Also Bob thought it was Mesa Tan, I thought Tahitian Coral; of course, being in black & white all we can do is guess.

Does anyone remember this episode of Lassie and the Beautiful Brute?

Enjoy!
Elizabeth
