Re: [Chrysler300] Replacement for the 413

A 440 works well under the rams.....my dearly departed 300F served me well for 23 years and tens of thousands of magical memories with such an engine.  Twice it was judged by the western club and had a deduction for too many bolts on the valve covers once and the second time that was overlooked but got a deduction for the Highland Park Chirp from the kick-up starter.  Never anybody asked what block was there and the a/c compressor covered the block callout. I have a 440 block that anybody can have just for arranging for it to go away.  Also an uncut factory forged crank that could be machined anyway you want with any stroke you want probably.  510 794 7911  Larry Jett

I still have several 413 blocks sitting here from 64 New Yorkers,

I bored a 63 413 block .060 years ago and it ran really good for years.

I built it to 300J specs and ran with a 300K single 4bbl. It has the solid
lifter heads on it yet

Still have it but it has a crack in the water jacket due to my not getting
it drained when stored.

Dan, I was curious aboout this. You might want to read this article,
especially at the end of the first page where he says to go ahead and bore
.060 over.

The 413 in my G is .060 over and worn out, so I need a new long block at the
least. Question: How does the 440 run with the cross rams? Or should I try
to find a 413? Thanks! Dan
