RE: [Chrysler300] Question about 64 K vs '67 GTO

I do not know anything much re what a '64 300K is worth, but I have a '67 Pontiac/GTO convert. In '67 GTOs there are still I think 3 different bodies, and if the  2 door post/pillared model was still offered in '67 like I think it was, that '67 GTO is worth a fair bit less than the 2 door (non pillar), or the convert. Then there are engine and trans options, bench seat even I think. So if this GTO is a lowest hp, bench seat pillared GTO, and it has rust in usual GTO places like trunk floor outers where body bracs are, plus if it not a convert they often rust bad round rear window, etc - then that GTO is not worth a lot, even less if it a non runner and an auto, basic 10 bolt diff/axle, and has wrong rims/wheels - correct date coded genuine issue stuff like rims etc for GTOs is/are often silly prices.

It is the old story - it is not just what you pay for a car to restore, it is what it owes you at the end - versus what it then worth !!
But near any '67 GTO even in most basic least sought variety, would still be a good car to drive versus many other old cars,

Hi Jim,
Not knowing specifics on either car, it looks like you'd be ahead by a bit on the K. Hagerty Price Guide shows the GTO in #4 condition (running, which this one isn't) and a K (running, which this one is) at $11,900.

Hello folks in 300 land.  I was at a show this weekend and ran into a guy who told me he has a 67 GTO that doesn’t run and needs a restoration.  He told me he knows somebody that wants to trade even-up his 64 300 K ‘silver edition’ for his 67 GTO.  He told me he drove the 300, so it does run.  But he said somebody repainted it white.  I told him right away that I didn’t know much of the 64 K, (except that it was a letter car which defines cool right away) and never heard of a ‘silver edition’.  I checked a 300 book I have and it mentioned a ‘silver series’.  Are these the same?

What do you guys think?  Would he be better off trading his GTO for the K?  I guessed he would be, but then I would probably trade a GTO for a simple K car, but that’s just me.
MOPAR or no car

Day 2 - great cruising - cool, foggy, drizzly morning in OK. Sun finally appeared this afternoon; warmed up to 90; John's top came down. Amarillo to Alamagordo in the morning.

Had an eventful day today. Made it to Effingham as my generator died. Stopped by Spanky's, pulled it and took it his local rebuilder, reinstalled it and back on the road. While waiting for the rebuild, Spanky took us to a local Mopar muscle restorer buddy of his - great cache of mid- to late-60s iron. In mid-Missouri tonight with John Begian. Also met up with Michael and Linda Burke this morning. Targeting Amarillo tomorrow.

Hello group,
On Monday morning, John Begian, in his G, and I will be meeting in Effingham, IL, and heading west in our 300s toward White Sands. Anyone else cruising westbound in their 300s to the Meet?
