RE: [Chrysler300] Future News...

We have seen recently a spate of bad blocks and bad heads…on B Blocks. Identified as ‘cracked” but that is remote unless frozen, without antifreeze. Got me wondering about internal rust thinning things out; that sequence killed Ford Flatties, in the blocks . We have a dam on river here, almost 300 years we rebuilt it. ( probably 6 th group to do so!) Out of curiosity, I measured some stuff, for sure 3/8 of steel is gone in 100 years. So in 50,  3/16” disappears  ? Reason I bring it up herein, is that “gunk” in radiator or heads IS dissolved block or head? Aka rust particles? Rust from around cylinders? The 300 castings may be of such an age if left empty for part of it that the tinworm is after them too. Auugh.

In the next two weeks after Vacation Bible School is over, I will be taking the upper radiator 2 piece hose apart to see how much sand and gunk the Garo radiator hose filter has collected in a year.  My last radiator was 50% clogged on the way to Alamogordo so put a super premium radiator core in it with an inline filter.  The other event will be to install a heat reducer under the carb in the 1963 300 Touring 8 to see if the terrible restart when hot with the corn gas may have been reduced.  The seller at Chryslers at Carlisle swore his invention would solve that situation.  Jett's Consumer's Report evaluation may be of interest, (or not)
