Re: [Chrysler300] accident damage

Hi John,

You may already be settled on your fender source, but I thought I'd chirp in here. I know a number of us have gotten parts from DVAP over the years, and I think the consensus has been that they are normally not fun or reliable to deal with. They seem to take on a bit of a surly attitude with a lot of us, and they're pricey too - which may not matter in your case because of the insurance coverage.

Somewhere in the Phoenix environs you will also find Hidden Valley Auto Parts, and those guys are a completely opposite story. Reasonable pricing and very personalized service - at least in my experiences with them. I bought a complete floor (among other things) from Hidden Valley for my '57 300C (actually a '58 Dodge 4-door floor - same thing), and they even got on the phone with my body shop guys to ask them exactly how to cut it out in the most desired way. Presuming these folks are still around, I know you'd really like working with them if they have what you need.

Make sure your insurance company treats you right, John. It's their job to make you very happy when the job is done.

How about posting the result when you're all done with the repair. Tell us who you have insurance with and how well they treated your claim. We'd all love to hear how you come out. For most of us, we just keep paying some pretty serious premiums and we have no idea what will happen when the tables are turned and we are at the mercy of our insurer.

Good luck!

Thanks for all the help/suggestions.  It appears DVAP has a 61 NYer fender with no rust Arizona sheetmetal.  Just have to plug the holes for trim at the body shop.
Interestingly, when I told him to look for either 61 or 62 NYer fender (long wheel base), he came back and said his books list the 61 and 62 NYer fenders as not interchangeable.  I would have sworn they were the same.  Am I missing something, or is his info not right?
I had a 62 NYer station wagon and a 61 NYer 8 door limo, and would have sworn they had the same nose/fenders.  In fact, I believe the 62 NYer wagon was actually made up of three cars by Chrysler that year:  A 61 NYer nose, 62 4-door hdtp dog house, and 61 Plymouth station wagon rear quarters (just different tail lights bolted on)?

On the way home from a Sunday afternoon cruise-in, a person decided to take a left turn across traffic right in front of me.  I almost missed him.  No one was hurt, but my G convertible now needs a right front fender, including the headlight bezel, turn signal bezel, and lens.  Probably a front bumper, too, but I have a spare one of those.  I might even have bezels to use (driver quality in need of rechroming), but I sure don't have a 61 Chrysler long wheel base front fender, and I definitely need one of those.  Anyone having a nice rust free, dent free example or a suggestion  of where to look please let me know so I can pass along the info to the insurance company/body shop.
Thanks.
