RE: [Chrysler300] K Driver's side seat trim

Pete:

The long steel chromed cover plates on the bucket seats are different on each side due to the necessity of covering the recliner latch and hardware. Definitely wider at the top, notched for the release lever and not interchangeable. I’m assuming all bucket seated 300’s had the recliner latch and hardware. I actually have a replated spare for the driver’s side and have included it in the attached pix.

Points of information: The ’64 options list included headrests—passenger-side only or both. The apparent assumption being with the reclining seat the passenger might be the only one needing a headrest. Then the power seat options were for driver’s side only or both. Very asymmetric. The convertible came from the factory with driver’s side power seat and passenger side headrest. The parts coupe I bought had both power seats and one headrest. Our convertible now has both power seats, both headrests and both outside rear-view mirrors. Symmetry, at last. So shoot me.

Keep calm and 300 on.

Thanks Rich - one question - is the passenger side seat trim the same??? If you could send a picture of that It would help.

Thanks,

Pete

Attached are three fresh pix of the trim on side and back of the black leather driver’s side power bucket seat in our 300K convertible. Let me know if you need some other view. I believe there is some difference in the seat construction and padding of vinyl-covered seats but I cannot imagine the power seat switch or cover plate would be different.

Pix available to others on request.

BTW, the black leather seat covers were sewn by Gary Goers, equipped with new foam and installed locally. They are gorgeous.

Keep calm and 300 on.

Hi Group:

I need some help from you K owners out there.

Can someone send me a picture (off the server) of the chrome piece that goes on the drivers side seat. I don't know if the same piece goes on power seats and non-powers seats, so that would be another question. I am dealing with a power seat. I am missing the piece, but have one on a '64 sport (non-power) but don't know if it is the proper piece.

Thanks in Advance,

Pete Fitch
