I looked at the Chevy orange and thought it was a bit orange. The Cummins red is a bit to red. I like the red better. And is hard to match up the old colours, so easier to go to Cummins fir more if needed. Used it in my F cross rams too, where it is much closer match to original. Personal taste.

Just wondering --

You mention the E grill red color. Were the E grill and brake vents painted by the factory in a different red than that used on the Cs and Ds?

On the Cs and Ds the color match is best found by using the Chevy 283 engine red/orange. But if the Es used a different red, that wouldn't work.
