Re: [Chrysler300] Fall Meet: Road America track time info

I note that for those who want to show a little love to their engine, there are 3 stations where non-ethanol gas is available in Plymouth - just a few miles south of Road America.

It's the automotive version of Beggin' Strips for your pup.

Okay all you would be 300 racers,

Yes, you will be starting your engines on the storied asphalt of Road America. A coupla things:

First, when you are registering with the Club please note the price for the event is PER CAR, not per person.

Our plan is to limit the event to the following vehicles: Chrysler 300s (any). If you are not bringing a Chrysler 300, first of all WHY NOT? We are allowing other collectible Mopars as well. If you have some other special interest auto that you want to have on the track, that's fine, too. We will adjust this plan as necessary, which is one of the reasons we need your Club registration forms as soon as possible.

So, if you are not bringing an appropriate vehicle (again, why not?) there is no cost but you will be leaving your grocery getter in the parking lot and relying on the kindness of others for a ride around the track. Drivers with extra seats, we hope you will be accommodating. If you are hitchhiking please consider coughing up some GAS MONEY, or at least sponsoring an adult beverage later at Siebken's Stop Inn, the legendary racer's bar across the street from our hotel.

Speaking of GAS, make sure your car has at least a half tank before you go out on the track.

The format of this event is known as a Sunset Cruise, so we will be gathering at Road America at 5:00, listening to a spiel about the track, and doing our laps as the sun goes down. Yes, these will be touring laps. Do not even think about getting cute and slowing down so you can "go fast" for a few feet. These folks are pros and will be on to your antics and all that will do is make the pace car slow down to a crawl to gather the sheep and ruin everyone else's day. Don't worry, it will be fun. The event runs rain or shine barring severe weather.

There has been a question about the requirement of "gym shoes." This is Road America's wording. It is customary for a racetrack to require long pants and enclosed shoes for on-track events. So, no shorts, miniskirts, clam diggers, capris, etc. make sure you wear some long pants and some flat, enclosed shoes.

Afterwards we are working on having dinner at the track. Details at the meet.

See you there!
Andy
