Re: [Chrysler300] 1960 300F hood release cable

If you can't find one, you may have to do what we did. Bought a manual choke cable. Drilled out where the cable goes into the release handle so that new cable can slip in. Then drilled and tapped for an allen screw to secure the cable from the underside of the handle. Then the trick is to trim the cable and hold the release handle horizontal when fastening it down at the hood release. You lose the flat side of the release handle that kept it horizontal. You can spend hours trying to get it just right!

Hi All:

I am in need of a hood release cable for my 300F.  I can get by with a 7-foot length (84"). of 3/16" O.D. wound steel flexible jack with 1/16" O.D. steel cable if separate parts are available.  Better yet would be an exact replica with handle, jacket and cable.  Thanks for checking.
