Re: AW: [Chrysler300] Engine Mounts

Hello to all.    I bought two nos mounts for my 300J about three years ago.    The passenger side collapsed after only about twelve hundred miles or so.  I sent my originals to Then And Now Automotive in Weymouth, MA and had them re-mold them.  In the meantime, I modified the nos passenger mount as per the instructions on the repair section of the  www.imperialclub.com website (see the Bob Schmitt link in the motor mount section).  It has worked flawlessly for over twenty thousand miles and uses a readily available Dodge pickup engine mount.

Hi Doug, Hi All

Recently I was looking for motor mounts form my 62 sport convertible too and was rather disappointed.

All I found was:

  1. New ones on Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Floating-Power-Engine-Transmission-Mount-Set-for-1962-Chrysler-Dodge-880-/221188336676?hash=item337fda2c24:g:pmUAAOSwI-BWP4rx&vxp=mtr
  2. smart repair posted on Chrysler 300 Club tech page: http://www.chrysler300club.com/tech/motormounts/rrenginemount.html

My questions are:

  1. Did anyone already order and install the ones offered on Ebay - which seem to be quite expensive but obviously the only ones around?
  2. Did anyone try the smart repair method posted on the tech page? I am a little doubtful on that because 54 year old rubber is just worn out…

Carlton: do you have any link of “Murray Park” where you ordered yours? Can’t find them in the net.

Thank you all,

Kai from Germany

Looking for a source for engine and 727 mounts for my 62 Sport.

Imperial Services had them in the past - have heard in favorable reports about them recently.
