Dang, that is a good question
and I don't know the answer
so I grabbed the infrared and the
L and went for a drive.
I'll leave it for you to decide
if that was my top speed
the temp at the top tank.
The factory service manual says the thermostat
should be a 180
and my records say I put a new 180 in
some years ago so I have to think
an infrared temp gauge reading of
185-190 range is spot on.
Aside, I have noticed these 1960-1964 temp
gauges are about as accurate as predictions that
Hillary would win the election.
