Re: [Chrysler300] Original Style Battery Info

I bought a period looking Mopar battery from Summit Racing for my G and it has performed well and holds a charge for a long period of time.

Thanks,

Steve Simon.

These reproduction batteries seem like a good idea, but many reports here indicate they are substantially higher (twice+)in cost and lower in life-span and quality as compared to high-quality standard OTC batteries.  I believe our concours judges do not deduct points for a standard black battery.   I have seen stickers one can plaster to the outside of standard batteries that will further disguise the battery and one can peel off the various stickers from the top of the battery.  I recall the original batteries in our 300’s had a different brand—Willard, I believe.  Replacement batteries from a Chrysler dealer would have been the Group 27 MoPar battery in a 300K.

Subject: [Chrysler300] Original Style Battery Info

Trying to spruce up the engine compartment of my 64 300K (413 4 brl) no ac.  Looking to get a "Mopar" Battery from Antique Auto Battery. Is the battery a Group 27 with red caps or is it another battery?  Any help would be appreciated.  Also, anyone know of another dealer that is cheaper??
Thanks

Myron
