Sounds like guides / stem seals or possibly a bad intake gasket? How's the engine run......do you have good vacuum? I've seen poorly sealed intake manifolds leak between the valley pan into the lifter valley. Sucks oil into the runners internally. Usually caused by heavily machined head surface causing a bad seal between intake and head. Like bad guides, it improves when the engine gets hot.

I can't see an additive correcting any scenario that is introducing oil into the cylinders. Why are you using an oil with such a wide viscosity range?

I run 20/50 Valvoline racing oil, getting a lot of smoke for a few minutes at start up, previous owner said guides were done/ not long ago but I question that, I checked compression and its good, so I was thinking about putting a additive in like Lucas or STP, does any club members have a idea on what additive to use or some other product?

Thanks Harry
