You are welcome Marshall . Curiosity of 58 years—- satisfied . We are alike in that curiosity ! And a huge thank you to Bob Merritt for making It accessible, and Gloria , and Jim Bartuska for crucial info on it .
My big takeaway from this investigation is how good WCFB and AFB really are . Still give even modern FI a run for the money . AVS and thermoquad even better . Only problem there is really the alcohol (or not ) problem — and its impact on desired AF ratio. A carb cannot correct for that. FI , no problem with O2 sensor .
Gets me thinking ... two float levels? Electrical changeover ?
