Re: [Chrysler300] 300F

Hi Claudio — welcome !
The light switch I believe has a brass looking “ lock” button on the metal box side of switch , you depress it and shaft pulls out . Clean the ceramic resistor and the wiper on it for good dash dimmer action . Check not open .
The wiper has a long story . On 60 the black plastic wash button operates a vacuum switch on back , added to electric switch . The shaft through switch for that  is soft plastic and fragile , and a lock metal piece in the knob cuts into it over time . Attempts to pull off knob or button , knob pulls button too and almost always the plastic button shaft severs . Button falls to floor , then switch can come out . ( usual) . Once found a button under the F  seat
To fix that I made a kit , see Bob’s 300 site  one stop shopping . Fiberglass rod shaft., Also in that listing is a kit to put a strong v3 micro switch , simulating 61 washer switch , so same button can operate an electric washer pump ( like 61) . The one year 1960 trico synced vacuum washer pump is a bear , although used on corvettes and you can find rebuild  parts and data there .
Hope this helps ...

Hi,

I want to introduce myself as this is my first email to the 300 group.. My name is Claudio Grisolia and I live in the Toronto Canada area.

I have a few cars that I have restored over the years and have always wanted a F car and finally I found one and am excited to get it in car cruising shape.

I never realized that parts would be fun finding in decent shape.

So anyways, I am going to make some requests starting today and please any criticism is and will be appreciated....

Dash Issue:

Radio, clock, glove box, front speaker, dash pad, heating controls, ignition, steering wheel, gear controls, ALL OUT AND DOCUMENTED...

PROBLEM:

Is there any tricks to taking the wiper control and light control knobs out.

And the chrome trim to the side of the light switch which goes around under the switches to the coloum.

I want to remove the brushed trim around these switches to buff and restore the shine...

Enough for tonight. Thanks to all in advance.
