Yes it does look like a 300L in the movie.

Saw it twice, love that movie!

 I like the scene where Carroll Shelby takes Mr. Ford for a drive in the GT40 after locking Beebe in his office...

Ken Miles, what a driver he was...

Amazing that Ford Motor Company was able to make such a car!  Shelby's help made it happen...
