Re: {Chrysler 300} 300F Rear panel trim clips

Happy New Year!

My 300F under restoration had screw type clips all around. Some were rusted metal screw clips (passenger side stainless molding from the license plate pocket) and most of the passenger side stainless steel molding clips were plastic clips with screw. All screws were sealed with a rubber ring between the screw and the sheet metal. Driver side stainless steel molding and stainless steel molding to the license plate pocket were apparently never ever mounted again after an accident at the drivers side rear corner.

Kind regards

Dieter

I had the rear bumper redone for my F and before I install it, I'm replacing the chrome around the license plate pocket and the two stainless moldings on either side of it. I got an NOS one for one side and it came with new clips. Three squeeze clips and one screw on one. Looking at my car, it has nuts holding on the original molding. Which way is correct?

Doesn't really matter to me but a friend is restoring his F where he's missing most of the clips and screws for everything on it.
