--Today my kid & I decided to pull the Astradome out, as the Speedometer pointer was stuck at 15mph.--3 things happened:
- 1. When pulling the Steering Wheel off…one must try too stuff the horn wire down in the steering column; so that the steering wheel puller can seat on top of the steering shaft. Of course that horn wire is now 59 years old; so it is prone to split & break. Does anyone have any helpful hints on what to do with that wire to get it down into the shaft simply? Or it is just a pain?
- 2. Once the Dome was removed…my kid dropped it on the driveway; thus adding a San Andreas Fault crack in the polished & clear Dome. Oh Yay! Don’t have a spare dome. Oh yay.
- 3. Reassembled it all & now the Speedometer works againDamn that Astradome is a pain to disassemble; but looks great day & night! Thanks!Matt Allyn
