Roll vs. Role

Where is autocorrect when you truly need it?

I am quite sure that the 1950 DeSoto also had the horn blow only when the ignition was on. How do the horns work on 300s from 1955 though 1959.  Comments welcome.

I had 1957 and 1960 Plymouths that I think the horn sounded without the ignition being on.  Too long ago to be sure.

Chrysler always did things a bit differently. Brake systems, left handed lug nuts on left side, etc.  They were far ahead of GM and Ford with smooth operating rotary door latches beginning in 1939. 1940 for Plymouth.  They used the same basic design through 1955.

The 1950 DeSoto had lug bolts that held the wheels to the drums.  Left hand threads on one side. The reason supposedly was for safety so the lug nuts would not tend to loosen.  Don't know of any right hand ones that did so.

If safety was the reason, then why do the power windows on the 1965 300L work without the ignition being on?  That surely was a bigger hazard with a head or hand being out the window and someone closing it.

Did you know in 1960 the horns work only when the ignition is on?

I wonder what other years had the same "gimmick"?

I think maybe 61 did.

How about other years?

I spent hours tracking down a horn problem on an F.
Turned out to be a failed relay but not knowing about
the key switch didn't help. Oh well.
