{Chrysler 300} 300G interior advise...

Has anyone else done this at home alone? Trying to replace my 61 300G interior foam with new stuff from Quirey Quality Design and wondering if I have to cut the opening in the new foam to match the original so the steel rods can be attached to the frame in the back w hog rings? All advise is most appreciated. Thanks in advance.
