Could it be that a shoe slipped off? When you are able to set it, is it only after driving again or is it just letting the car sit?

P brake has been working fine,push to set,lever down to release. Yesterday,took a 100 mile drive to get ready to drive  to fall meet. When I got back, tried to set p brake, pushed on brake,only went down 2 notches,hard push,then it went all the way. Tried to set again,same thing?

Third time, worked fine. Today, drove to get gas about 7 miles, set p brake ok, then onto a 50 mile drive, got back, same as yesterday. Pushed and got 2 notches, then hard kick, went to normal position.

Checked manual, nothing in there or I missed it. Anyone know what's happening.

Something serious? 

Been driving F 50 miles a week for years and everything ok. 

What's up?
