Re: {Chrysler 300} Cruise control

I would be interested to know if anyone out there really knows how to fix these. Bob Brown’s awesome E doesn’t work and he sorta gave up on it. Mine worked when we took my E apart. Might have got some dirt in it when i cleaned it, or not adjusted properly when put back together. From what i have read, not just the big unit under the hood, but also the steering column unit, both have to be adjusted right. Way beyond my abilities. But it was a pain to drive due all the pedal back at the high end settings, 100 ? Solved that with help of several at the Minneapolis meet by disconnecting the linkages. Auto pilot still doesn’t work, but you don’t get a sore leg driving now.. I would still like to get it working. Hopefully out of storage shortly…..

Here are the instructions for Auto Pilot from the owners manual. The service manual has an extensive section on Auto Pilot including testing.

I've never actually driven a car with it so I'm not familiar with any issues. I've many later Mopars with the simpler system and it worked great. I used to add it to my cars and also had it in my motorhomes and old pickup.

Hi

I just bought a 1960 Station Wagon with the factory cruise control like the one on the photo.

Anyone who knows how this work or have some overview what parts should be there.

Your assistance is highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Allan

PS Very sorry I missed the Spring Meet.
