You can do a 100 point restoration. Or not.
You can build a nice driver. Or not.
You can restore one component at a time over a number of years. Or not.
You can do a budget restoration and then drive the wheels off of it. Or not.
You can just let it sit in a barn and tell everyone that you'll get to it eventually. Or not.
There are no right or wrong answers.

A boat is a just hole in the water you throw money into.

I have some cars that really aren't worth spending the money to restore as I could spend less buying the same car done but I still keep them. Heck, I just bought a 60 Imperial that only cost 5 grand but the paint job and chrome work would put me upside-down.

In my restoration of a similar car, the point for me was to have a project/hobby for fun and the challenge, not necessarily a financial reward.  I wanted to do the work, but drew the line at bodywork and paint because I know my limits.  Hobbies usually cost money – so what if it makes you happy?  Don’t they say the experience of people who own sailing boats is like standing in a shower tearing up dollar bills?

Cheers
