Re: {Chrysler 300} Chrysler 300 Noise Put In New EV

And only the tooth fairy can make hydrogen without huge amount of electricity  or natural gas . And only she  can transport it . And that process is brutally inefficient . A sad joke if you understand it , issue is not idea it is where do you get hydrogen ? Arrgh .

Not a person on earth can fix any of these new cars ,without tow back to dealer -=  they die = YOU WALK . Better have two cell
Phones . What about no cell service?

Saw a Tesla on tow trailer and smirked. Owner looking at 3000 ?
Dodge Dart or even a 300 you have a ? 70 % chance you keep on going yourself off a 100$ parts stash in trunk .and 8 wires through firewall — not 80 wires and 50 small computers . And 80 check engine red lite codes .
Looking at you BMW . 90 computers on CAN bus . 6 hour software reboot. Makes guy driving one look not too swift to me . Good for a nice picture with driving gloves and a bra on front .

Brakes on dart 39$ . Points 4$ . ( you know — the ones that “ are a problem “ every z20k miles)
Any trip to dealer today is 1500-2500 $ ( I’d add “ a month”  but that is cynical .)
No published data to service now, and you cannot anyway . Any car since ~ 1990 is like this . Want to go to tip of South America in a new  one ? I dare you . I would in dart .And  I would get there  Driving even 200 miles  in my old Mercedes’ 600 SL took crossed fingers , hope , prayers and stress. I laugh now . Why they are worth nothing used .
Sorry Bob back to 300 what site is  for.
Todays kids will never know … at one time you could fix your own car .

The future is hydrogen fuel cells. The petroleum lobby is killing this. Electric cars are not sustainable. I keep my vehicles over 10 years and an ev won't last that long. Also a used ev is worthless.

Noel,

You bring up a very valid concern about electric vehicles.  I only have one ear that works and I find many new cars too quiet.  The electric vehicles take that even further.  Even the Harley crowd is constantly promoting the idea that loud exhausts save lives.  For your brother I could certainly see that listening closely would be vital to his safety.
It’s a shame our government is forcing these upon us.  The infrastructure isn’t there for them yet.  Disappointing to see Chrysler killing off the Hemi in cars.

I know we’ve derailed a bit here from discussions of our beloved Letter Cars, but I will add one comment. For people like my brother, who’s 100% blind, and whose ears are his eyes, silent EVs can be killers. Whether it’s the wonderful sound of a Hemi running on a track, or some sort of tone, the silence of these EVs can easily be vehicles of life or death.

Thanks for sending this....Unbelievable!
Does a car have to have noise to be fast?
This is a great example of the way the old leaders
don't know how to lead in the future...they drag the past with them.
I suspect the market may not be ready for vehicle
that uses new electric technology but sounds like
a combustion engine. If Ford ends up failing in its electric vehicle
initiatives...this will be one reason...they used the same engineers
that built the combustion engine to create the new electric
vehicles.  As a shareholder of Tesla stock for ten years...I have seen
a company do everything new and different.....this has made all
the difference in a very positive way.
Ford, GM and Chrysler may be incapable of doing what it takes
to be competitive in the next generation of digital automobiles.
Time will tell...Ford debt is junk rated. Both GM and Ford have
a very challenging job of hanging on to their customers.
The process may severely impact their profitability.

Pretty lame idea. As a four Tesla family, we love eating Hellcats with silence and a smile….
