{Chrysler 300} 194LL dash bulbs versus the stock 57's

Has anyone run the 194LL bulbs in their 1963/1964 dash without any heat – plastic issues? I have it out on the bench and want to put new bulbs in now as it is easy. I also have a spare dash and what do you know it has a full set of “regular base” sockets. My unit in the car (on the bench) has the bayonet type. Any plus or minus to staying with the bayonet or going to the regular base bulbs?

Keep in mind this is going to be our daily driver and we intend on doing a coast-to-coast trip next spring in the car.

Thanks for any thoughts,  James
