Minor points: I think the rods came with a light cad plating. Dunno about OEM nuts style. Acorn? Wing nut of some specific style? Chromed? Washer?? I will use a threaded rod for the time being, but that will have me from pulling out the dies to make a “real one”. I HATE IT when owners make modifications and do not keep all the old parts with the car. I have made a lot of modifications to drive the 1947 Desoto for 22 years. But everything I have done is reversable and all the parts are boxed and labeled. I am doing the same with any mods on the 300K. But Murray did not include the threaded rod. Can someone take on out of theirs and measure it for me and tell me the diameter and thread pitch? I will order some threaded rod and cut it to fit. I vaguely remember that the stock rods were just threaded on the ends. If that is the case then can you also tell me how long the threaded in in both ends. At some point I will get and die some solid rod to duplicate it.
