{Chrysler 300} RE: Rear Defogger

I checked the wiring schematic, and that second wire is in fact a resistance wire. Why they did not use a resistor on the switch is anyone’s guess. I suspect that they used the switch with a different bezel for some other item as well.

If anyone with a factory defogger installation can tell me which is the proper location for the switch I would appreciate it. Also if anyone has a photo of the installation in the trunk, I would not mind a photo of that as well.

Thanks, James

Subject: {Chrysler 300} Rear Defogger

Anyone with a ’64 that has a rear defogger, I would like to ask for a photo of where the switch is located on the dash and also a photo of the unit in the trunk, please?

I picked up a set up and would like to see an installation. I did this about 1986 but my memory of the details alludes me.

At some point in a month or so, I will be pulling the seats and placing a new carpet and I will run the wires at that time.

Thanks, James

PS. I got the factory wiring harness with stuff from Murray, but an odd thing. There are two wires coming off the switch and heading almost all the way back on the wrapped harness and then only one emerges from the wire wrap with a single connector. The switch has two on positions. A resistor in the switch perhaps? A resistance wire that solders back down near the end?
