{Chrysler 300} Possible scam artist

Has anybody heard from a John A. Waters? He says he's interested in my "L". He is not in the club registry. He doesn't quite write well. No phone number and no address. Wants to send me a certified check. Asked about my address. 

I asked him to send me his phone number and address so that I may send him photos. That may have spooked him for he did not reply.

How did he find out about my ad?

Just being careful.
