RE: {Chrysler 300} Problem

Nothing correct about that set up!

For sure, “custom by cobble craft” IMHO

There should be some pic’s on the club site of a cotrrect engine bay for a G

Folks

I hate to beat a dead horse on this one but could someone with a correct F/G please email me a closeup of the heater hoses as they come off the water pump and go under the cross rams (assuming both hoses do?)

My F has an over the top arrangement on the hoses themselves and also a strange “balance tube” between the in and out fittings which I’ve known was there but now I’m wondering if the factory had a much more subtle form of this when these cars were built?

I should have looked more closely and taken pics of all the F and G’s at our meet in Hershey but I was so focused on crossram firewall and bell crank linkage on J/K’s I didn’t - Mea Culpa!

Please see pics below.

Thanks!

Keith

Ray, if you can blow up the attached photo you might see the copper tubing from Home depot I used to plumb my 61 Savoy Sono-Ramic in 2007, when I knew next to nothing about the particularities of the 300 franchise. I used internet photos of mostly G engine bays to bend and install the pipes and it was easy. I never did get a good answer as to why some ram inducted cars use the copper pipe and others including my F do not.

Hi Bill;

How about cutting the pipe and sweating in a copper coupler fitting to orient the end as needed?

Not as new, but it seems like many have made do with rubber hose all the way across the valley.

At least you'll be close to as designed, and not really very noticeable.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my copper heater pipe question.  I have to believe at this point that the driver side pipe is not bent correctly.  I finished up my distributor restoration today and dropped it into position.  I wanted to make sure that I would be able to hook up the pipes to the front water pump housing nipples.  I have decided to buy some Gates hoses that have a molded 90 degree elbow.  I should be able to make the hose connections without collapsing the hoses.

Thanks Again
