Re: {Chrysler 300} G power steering pump leak

There should be a thin gasket that gets sandwiched between the pump housing and the reservoir. It has two holes in it for the bolts to pass through. A little dab of silicone on the bolts and you should be good to go. There is also a large O-ring that goes around the pump housing to seal the reservoir.

I had the power steering pump rebuilt by Lares and it was installed by my restorer. The pump reservoir had a leak and it was dripping oil off the bottom of the pump. The pump worked fine except for the leak. When I removed the pump I found the rear mounting bolt goes into the oil reservoir and the bolt I removed had red silicone sealer on the threads. It has been several years since I removed the pump and I can't remember it having a sealing washer or thread sealer on that bolt but it could have. I can't remember a lot of things anymore.
The FSM does not mention sealing that mounting bolt. Is the bolt supposed to go into the reservoir? If so, what is the recommended sealing method?
