{Chrysler 300} Power Brake Booster

Greetings,
I could use some advice from teh intellegencia in thei group.  I received my booster repair kit and am starting the process  As youi can see inthe attached photos, one of the first steps is to remove the input rod from the plunger.  This takes 300 lbs. of force to break the plastic retainer. While doing this one must be careful not to damage the plastic tailstock.  My dilemma is how do I support the assembly so it is stable and can  withstand 3000 lbs. of force.  I will be using a long lever, as i don't weigh anything near that weight.  I was thinking of using a sledge hammer tied to a line that went through the eye of the rod.  Sort of a large slide hammer.

Any ideas welcome.
