{Chrysler 300} Replating Cad or Zinc

Hello All -

Do any members have good experience with someone who can refinish parts in Cadmium II (chromate wash)  or Zinc w/chromate wash or just bright zinc (almost bluish)?  I'm looking at relatively small parts like carburetor linkages, small mounting brackets, even individual small bolts and nuts.  Biggest item might be the 12-inch diameter sheetmetal fan shroud strap for a Porsche 911.  IMHO, there's no good substitute for the multi-color iridescent colors in gold (sic) Cad II!  I know the cursed EPA has really cracked down on the Cad plating, and even now are forcing chrome platers out of the superior three-step (copper-nickel-chrome) hexavalent chrome chemistry and into the cheaper, but inferior trivalent chrome.  And inputs on who still does the hex chrome?

I seem to remember a recent post from Kurt Brueske that he might be involved in this.

Hi Bob, Sherm's plating in Sacramento is the best. They don't loose parts or destroy pot metal.
I owned a plating shop and it takes a high skill level to get a good finish on pot metal. Good luck.
