Lots of advice on brands here, price seems to vary area to area due to distribution of these heavy units. Living in western Canada my choices for a well made lift was limited without dealing with a big shipping bill. I purchased a Bendpak 4 post as their prices
here were comparable to other options and they are well proven. I mostly use the lift for storage so opted to get the 110v pump version and not upgrade my service. Takes about a minute or so to rise all the way up.
Bendpak has numerous sizes with varying length, width, and height. Not wanting to try and us a computer program to model what would fit, I accurately measured my space as well as the vehicles that would be on or under the lift and transferred them to scale
templates on graph paper. I was able to see which lift best fit best without impeding door openings etc. and allowed for the most unobstructed access around the area. My lift is not bolted down and has repositioning wheels so I can easily move it if needed.
I’m happy with it after 4 years since install.
