Re: {Chrysler 300} 4 Post Lift

Lots of advice on brands here, price seems to vary area to area due to distribution of these heavy units. Living in western Canada my choices for a well made lift was limited without dealing with a big shipping bill. I purchased a Bendpak 4 post as their prices here were comparable to other options and they are well proven. I mostly use the lift for storage so opted to get the 110v pump version and not upgrade my service. Takes about a minute or so to rise all the way up.

Bendpak has numerous sizes with varying length, width, and height. Not wanting to try and us a computer program to model what would fit, I accurately measured my space as well as the vehicles that would be on or under the lift and transferred them to scale templates on graph paper. I was able to see which lift best fit best without impeding door openings etc. and allowed for the most unobstructed access around the area. My lift is not bolted down and has repositioning wheels so I can easily move it if needed. I’m happy with it after 4 years since install.

The used lift I got this year has metal drip pans that overlap. It also came with a hydraulic rolling jack that uses the lift pump for power. I haven't tried it yet. I just use my 4-post lifts for storage. I have a 2-post lift for working on cars. I'll probably use the jack on the newest lift when it comes time to put the steering and front suspension back in the ram K.

On my Advantage I wish they would have used a slightly larger diameter set of rods for the locks. These would be the rods that go across faces. They tend to flex too much, but they do the job. A minor bitch.

I think their drip trays could be much better designed. Too hard to clean and they allow for leaks to get by them on the edges. A better design would be good.

Jeff;

I'm a big fan of Advantage Lifts, having one for several years. Our 300F sits on top during the winter and not a sag in the ramps. Like Nick I too wanted the enclosed posts. Every structural piece has thicker steel or has addition reinforcement.  Each corner has dual locking pawls, Cross members containing the pawls are pre-assembled, 1/2" cable instead of  3/8", and you will love the aluminum ramps. Sheaves with bushings and zerk fittings. The shipment is packaged in the order of assembly with cylinder, cables, and power-pack  pre-assembled. Great online assembly video and phone service.

I had mine picked up by a flat bed car hauler positioned so we just placed the package on the garage floor with a machinery skate and used the engine hoist to assemble.

Subject: {Chrysler 300} 4 Post Lift

Good evening!

I’ve been considering a four post lift in the corner of my shop. Wondered if anyone in the group has experiences good or bad. It appears there are countless Internet suppliers and don’t want to go down a road I’ll regret with no support etc if something wrong.

Any info appreciated.
