 You do need a longer shaft to compensate for the length differences. You
can pull and exchange the shaft, reusing your column. UNLESS, you can
find an adapter that makes up for the difference.   I found out that
there was a difference, and spliced a section of shaft into the one I
had.  Put the splice up inside the column tube, that extends into engine
compartment.  Tom
